32 imagesThe bus drops me off at the central train station of Sarajevo at around 2 pm. The scene inside the station is magnificient: A beautiful dark haired woman dressed in red stands right in the centre of the hall, smoking a cigarette, filling the station with the smell of it. A baby is crying on the other side of the hall as the mother tries to calm him down, and a group of policemen are sitting back in the bar at the other corner of the station. The look of the station is quite special, with a hint of communist style and a squared clock right in the middle of it. The tram goes up and down following the river Miljacka, and the ride gives you the ultimate experience when it comes to “people watching”. Novo Sarajevo is to be found when you go far to the west. Tall communist-look buildings pop up all over the skyline, standing proud and showing off their war scars and cracks from the top to the bottom. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
